SPR Group will implement technology in “turnkey plant” mode, in the design, supply, transport, assembly and installation of a waste treatment line in the Barberà del Vallès plant of CLD, an environmental services company of the Sorigué Group, in Barberà del Vallès.
SPR’s technical proposal consists of the creation of a sorting process line for different types of industrial, commercial, municipal and packaging waste. It will treat about 36,000 tons of waste per year from different channels.
SPR know-how in plant installation
SPR’s technical concept is a treatment line that will be able to treat 11.54 tons of waste per hour. A flexible plant with the capacity to recover materials such as plastics (PET, HDPE, film, etc.), paper/cardboard and ferrous (Fe) and non-ferrous (Nfe) metals.
In the process and implementation of this plant, SPR offers CLD Serveis Ambientals all its knowledge and know-how to contribute to the optimization and the valorization of the materials to be treated.
Process and operation of the line
An SPR Pre Crusher will be installed in the plant at the beginning of the process, to treat materials contained in bags, in order to open them and release the material with a low aggressive process, which can be adapted to carry out other functions depending on the input material.
According to the characteristics of the waste, it will receive a treatment specific to its properties where three scenarios are proposed for the typology of the materials; industrial, commercial and packaging.
Start-up of the plant
Firstly, the material will be transported to the treatment plant in special vehicles, weighed and controlled in the reception area, and then the waste will be classified in a reception zone, on which the waste will be loaded.
The materials with optimum characteristics will be transported to the first phase of the process where the fractions will be separated into three parts; rodante 3D (separated by the screws to later continue the process), planar 2D (which would go over the screws to unload onto a belt and be transported to a manual sorting belt) and hundida/final (which would go through the screws to later continue the process).
Process and plant efficiency
Urban waste and packaging will be pre-treated by the Pre Crusher before screening the material. The sunken fraction from the Splitter Screw screen will be conveyed by conveyor belts to a 3D Combi Flip Flow screen in order to separate the organic material by cutting it to 40 mm.
The densimetric selection stage of both the 3D and 2D fraction of 40 – 80 mm will be carried out with the Windshifter Separator and Densimetric Separator, and several processes will be carried out in order to valorize each of the fractions and meet the recovery objectives.
The automatic plastic selection process will have a series of optical separators, with the main objective of recovering the fractions of polymer plastics from non-polymers; this cascade system seeks to separate the largest amount of recoverable plastics (PET, HDPE, PP and plastic mix).
Finally, the selected materials are adapted to the needs of the technical specifications for recovered materials, so that the treated materials can already be pressed in the Multi-material baler.
